welcome to a soft place to land

Do you ever wonder why others seem to be living their best lives while you feel like you’re wandering, worried you’re not doing things right? You’re under a lot of pressure and want to feel confident and free, but instead you catch yourself thinking things like:

“Am I happy?”
“Am I making the right decisions to get me to where I want to go?”
“Where do I want to go?”
“Am I actually living the life I want to live?”

Instead of feeling in control of your life, you feel uneasy, restless, and confused. Deep down, you know you are worthy a fulfilling life, but you don’t know how to get there.

You can continue just hoping things will get better, or you can start therapy and make a change.

I’ve been helping people find and re-find themselves as a therapist since 2018. Finding the right therapist can be challenging, and while I can’t promise I’m the perfect fit, I can promise to help you discern that for yourself.

I’m glad you’re here. Therapy can be a valuable part of getting to where you want to be. Your path is unique, and you deserve a therapist who honors that uniqueness and focus on you.

Let yourself be the person you’ve secretly always wanted to be.

hi! i’m matthias

Whether you’ve tried therapy before or it’s completely new to you, if you’re looking for a therapist who will thoughtfully listen and respond, not just hand you a worksheet to fill out, you’re in the right place.

My approach to therapy is trauma informed and depth-based, focusing on uncovering the root causes of your challenges rather than just giving you tools to treat symptoms. Therapy with me is about developing a meaningful relationship, which becomes a conduit for change, much like any significant relationship in your life.

The difference is: A therapeutic relationship is firmly boundaried and outside of the rest of your relationships, which allows you to show up more freely without worrying about what you say getting back to the people around you. Developing this kind of relationship takes time, so the therapy I offer is a commitment to your long-term wellbeing.

In our sessions, I actively help you discern for yourself what you need and want from life. My goal isn’t to provide you with answers or give advice, but to guide you in discovering these things for yourself.

If you’re seeking a therapist who will invest in understanding and supporting you, helping you uncover the depths of your experiences, addressing your pain, and finding your path forward, I may be able to help. Together, we can work towards a more fulfilling life.

rates & insurance

Individual Sessions (50 minutes): $200

My practice is private pay.

Fees can be paid by cash, check, credit/debit, or HSA. Due to limited space available and restrictions of services, I do not bill insurance.

You are responsible for interacting with your insurance providers and for therapy payments. However, upon request a receipt of payment and services is available in order for you to submit for Out of Network benefits. Please note that if you wish to pursue reimbursement, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis. I will speak with you and provide psychoeducation around this topic.

As with any insurance questions, it is a good idea to call your insurance company directly to verify coverage before receiving services. Some helpful questions to ask include:

  • What is the reimbursement rate for an out-of-network provider?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician for me to pursue and be reimbursed for mental health services?

  • How many outpatient mental health sessions are covered per year?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

You get to tell the story of you, and your story has more power than you can imagine.
